Impersonating a REALTOR®

If you receive a text or email from anyone claiming to be from our office requesting something suspicious, such as gift cards, money, or other sensitive information, it is important to proceed with caution. Recently, a scammer sent an email impersonating Mary Ellen, soliciting a request that she would never make.


In situations like this, when in doubt, always feel free to ask, call, or verify the request through official channels. Your safety and security are our top priorities, and we encourage you to remain vigilant against potential scams.

A client lead on your website or REALTOR.ca

When you receive a client lead from your website or REALTOR.ca, it’s important to exercise caution, especially if the contact phone number appears to be foreign. We have noticed an increase in leads that include WhatsApp numbers, which can often be associated with scams.

Always take the time to verify the authenticity of the email addresses, phone numbers, and locations provided in these leads. While it’s understandable that you don’t want to miss out on a potential client, protecting yourself from unscrupulous scam artists is paramount. A little extra diligence can go a long way in ensuring your safety and maintaining the integrity of your business.

Facebook Fake Meta Agents

If you have posted an advertisement on Facebook, please be aware that scammers may attempt to contact you with a fake "Violation" alert through Messenger or email. It is essential to disregard these messages, as they are often sent randomly to numerous users with ads.

Always remain vigilant and take the time to verify the legitimacy of any communication you receive. Protecting yourself from potential scams is crucial in maintaining a safe online experience.
